Seven Churches of Revelation Plus Biblical Tours in Turkey

Anatolia has been the centre of Christianity ever since St. Paul, St. Peter and St. John. Many other apostles came here to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ This intensive religious effort bore fruit in the building of ”Seven Churches of Revelation, in seven major cities throughout western Turkey.

Day 1 – Meeting at Istanbul Airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 2 – Full day city tour, lunch included Morning: St. Sophia * Underground Cisterns * Mosaic Museum * St.lrene, Afternoon: Patriarch of Fener * Virgin Mary’s Church, * Golden Horn, St. Savior in Chora (Kariye Museum) * City Walls,

Day 3 – Early morning flight or night-before bus to Smyma (Izmir), recipient of a letter from St. Paul praising the early believers for their faithfulness. Visiting St. Polycarp Church, İzmir Agora and a short tour of the city, drive to Thyatira (Akhisar), and Sardes (Salihli), the ancient Lydian capital. Philadelphia (Alaşehir), the youngest of the ” Seven Churches of Revelation”, visiting the still-standing remains of an early church and the city walls. Dinner and overnight at Hierapolis (Pamukkale).

Day 4 – Departure after breakfast, the tour of Hierapolis. Visit Laodicea (Denizli), a crossroads of the ancient world, home of Philip the Evangelist. Continue to Ephesus, the most important of the ”Seven Churches of Jesus in Asia Minor”, where St.John brought Mary in fulfilment of his pledge to Jesus to protect her, she is believed to have been taken into heaven. Visit the last abode of the Virgin Mary and St. John Basilica. Dinner and overnight in Izmir.

Day 5 – Departure after breakfast for Pergamon (Bergama), the place where wrote St. John to the Church of Pergamum, ” Satan’s throne is sited”. Evening return to Izmir and transfers to the airport for a flight, or evening bus to Istanbul.

Day 6 – Free day in Istanbul

Day 7 – Transfer to Istanbul Airport for a return flight.
