The Seven Churches of Revelation Tour from Istanbul is planned for people who will be departing from Istanbul. From Istanbul, you will be transferred to Izmir via bus or plane, depending on your choice. There is no train service that runs directly between Istanbul and Izmir. Your journey can conclude in Izmir, Kusadasi or Bergama (Pergamon).

Anatolia has always been the centre of Christianity ever since St. Paul, St. Peter, and St. John. Many other apostles came here to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This intensive religious effort bore fruit in building ” Seven Churches of Revelation” in seven major cities throughout western Türkiye.

Day 1 – Meet and travel to Ephesos (Efes), where you can explore the historic Greco-Roman city of Ephesus, the most significant of the “Seven Churches of Revelation” in Asia Minor, where St. John took Mary in fulfilment of his promise to Jesus to protect her, and Mount Solmissos, her final resting place from which it is thought she entered heaven.

Continue to Laodicea (Denizli), an ancient world crossroads, after lunch. Dinner at the hotel and overnight in Pamukkale (Hierapolis).

Day 2 – After breakfast, depart and travel to Hierapolis, an ancient city that was once home to Philip the Evangelist. Visit Philadelphia (Alaşehir), the newest of the Seven Churches of Revelation, paying a visit to the city walls and the still-standing ruins of an early church. Lunch will soon arrive.

Visit the ancient Lydian capital of Sardis (Salihli), which has mythological significance, in the afternoon to see the church ruins. Upon arrival in Thyatira (Akhisar), one of the major cities from which Christianity spread, in the evening, followed by a visit to the abandoned churches. Drive to Pergamon in the late evening. After supper, spend the night in Pergamum.

Day 3 – After breakfast, head to Pergamon (Bergama), where Satan’s throne is said to be located, according to a letter from St. John to the church in Pergamon. The striking buildings were built in 339 BC. Treatment modalities like music and water therapy, meditation, and blood transfusion were developed in Pergamon, a medical facility.

After lunch, travel to Smyrna (Izmir), where St. Paul commended the early Christians for their steadfastness in a letter. St. Polycarp Church visit. After a brief sightseeing excursion, fly or take a night bus from Izmir to Istanbul.
