Half Day Morning Bosphorus Tour by Public Catamaran

This is a half-day morning sightseeing tour of the sights around the Golden Horn which separates old and new Istanbul with the combination of land travel and the cruise. This was where the original Byzantine colonists settled and were home to Byzantine Jews, Italian traders and other minorities and you can hear the account of how the Ottomans conquered the Golden Horn. In Balat, you can see the Metal Church of St. Stephen the Bulgarian, the Jewish Hospital (Or-Ahayim and the Fener Orthodox Patriarchate. You can walk along the 22 kilometres of fortified city walls which in the Middle Ages were the strongest fortification. Soak up the atmosphere and breathe in the heady aromas of different spices at the Spice Bazaar or the Egyptian Bazaar as you explore the stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and flowers. You can also buy souvenirs and traditional Turkish teas and coffee and other items. Now, ready to sail? Let’s take the Bosphorus Cruise through the water between Europe and Asia while photographing ancient marble palaces, wooden Ottoman villas as well as modern villas and residences. The Rumeli Fortress which can only be seen from the boat was built to control and protect the Bosphorus and is a remarkable example of a historic military armament. You will also be able to see the Imperial Gardens of the Royal Yildiz Palace, the Bosphorus Bridge that connects the continents of Europe and Asia, the Beylerbeyi Palace, the Maiden’s Tower (also known as Leander’s Tower), and the Uskudar District.
