Eastern Black Sea Towards Erzurum Culture Tour in Turkey

DAY 1. Meet at Trabzon Airport, transfer to hotel, welcome cocktail and briefing, depart for Ayasofya, a 13th century Byzantine Church and study superb Byzantines frescoes, drive to Akcaabat for lunch, depart for Gülbahar Hatun Mosque, Castle and Atatürk’s Mansion ( a picturesque hilside retreat ) visit Ortahisar Mosque ( a Comneni cathedral in the old town ) drive to Boztepe ,drink tea and enjoy the panoramic view of the city, return to hotel and overnight.

DAY 2. Depart for Sumela Monastery, arrive at Altindere Valley National Park. Reach the monastery after a 35 min. climb from the valley, visit the 4th century Sumela Monastery and descend to the valley, depart Altindere for lunch to Coşandere Restaurant.. After lunch depart for Karaca Cave, travelling along the old Silk Road through the Zigana Mountain chain. Arrive at Karaca Cave, considered the most beautiful in Turkey for its colors and formations., arriving in Trabzon, dinner & O/N.

DAY 3. Depart for Uzungöl, one of the most photogenic locations in the region, lunch at a fish restaurant, sightseeing and dinner & O/N at Uzungöl,

DAY 4. A full day excursion to Sekersu on the foothills of Soganli Mountains, barbecue party beside a glacier lake, enjoy the panorama with beautiful landscapes, return to Uzungöl, dinner and overnight at Uzungöl,

DAY 5. Depart for Ayder, visit botanic garden and have a panoramic view of Rize, drive to Çamlihemsin through the beautiful Firtina Valley, enjoy the panorama with many of waterfalls, stone bridges on Firtina stream and lush green forests on the foothills of the magnificent Kaçkar Mountains, lunch in Kalegon Forest, sightseeing in Ayder, return to Rize, dinner & O/N. in Rize,

DAY 6. Drive to Artvin, visit Borcka Karagöl and ancient Georgian Churches Dolishane, Yeni Rabat ( Shetberdi ) Church in Ardanuç, dinner & O/N in Artvin,

DAY 7. Driving through the River Coruh Valley will take us to other Georcian Churches; Ishan, Osk-Vank and Haho, visit Tortum Waterfalls on the way, dinner and O/N in Erzurum,

DAY 8. Morning tour to Çifte Minareli Medrese, Three Tombs, Yakutiye Medrese, Ulu Mosque and Erzurum Castle, transfer to Erzurum Airport for a homebound flight, and say farewell…
